The teaching \u201cLearn from Nature\u201d anchors Chinese landscape painting in the philosophy of representing \u201cCreation.\u201d For Mu Ran Gong, \u201cCreation\u201d in the contemporary context assumes a vaster definition: it is not only the visible clouds over Mount Tai but also the invisible energy fields that cause incense smoke to dance and stars to move. His \u201cCosmic Imagery\u201d series is the visual manifesto of this cognitive leap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, traditional landscape symbols dissolve entirely. What flows across the canvas are no longer fixed mountain ranges but vortices of color resembling nascent nebulae, eruptions of energy, and phantom topographies. This is not an objective depiction of the cosmos but the externalization of internal vision\u2014a \u201cHeartscape.\u201d Mu Ran Gong once posed a revelatory question: \u201cWhy does incense smoke not rise in a straight line? It dances because it rides currents of dark energy and swirling, colorful luminosity.\u201d For him, the traditional \u201cblank space\u201d in ink painting is the greatest illusion and, simultaneously, plenitude\u2014a field shimmering with Dunhuang fresco-like \u201cluminous energy.\u201d The canvas is never empty; it is always a field recording captured forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, \u201cCosmic Imagery\u201d signifies the full maturity and independence of the \u201cFantasy-Color Freehand\u201d language. The whirling linear structures, colliding color fields, and deep spatial portals in his paintings are rooted in the Eastern aesthetic of \u201cSpirit Resonance\u201d (Qi Yun), yet they speak a universal language about cosmic origins, the flow of time, and elemental energy. He achieves a dual transcendence: formally, transforming ink from a tool for \u201cdepicting objects\u201d into an autonomous syntax for \u201cconstructing realms\u201d; conceptually, elevating personal meditation into a metaphysical inquiry with shared human resonance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
